Shri. Manohar Parrikar Smriti Sthal is morphed around the sacred location where his last rites were performed & creates not just a resonator of memory but a public space whose architectural sensibility is conducive to private introspection & public homage. Smriti Sthal provides opportunity for an appreciation of his life & all his work. The architectural expression is evocative & powerful, creating a place of pilgrimage that welcomes all people, speaks to all people, up-lifts all people. It lends a physical dimension to man's relentless quest for remembrance. The architectural language is obscured here, inviting the visitor to find his own inner core of peace, to make his own interpretations, to glean his own meanings of life.
The Shri. Manohar Parrikar Smriti Sthal stands as a monument to his spirit, his work & his dedication to society. The simplicity of its architecture draws much of its power from the life he led.
Contribution to the team: Conceptual diagramming & design development along with presentation & rendering works. Also worked on the approval, tender & working drawings with vendor co-ordination for materials, finishes & other special items for the project like the ring sculptures.
